Sake is quietly becoming an important part of Vietnam’s dining culture. In the past, sake was primarily found in omakase restaurants and izakayas. However, this has been changing rapidly in recent years. Since the Michelin Guide entered Vietnam in 2023, nine restaurants have been awarded one Michelin star. Among them, five restaurants have introduced sake pairing menus, and only one of those restaurants is Japanese. Sake is no longer simply "a Japanese alcoholic beverage served with Japanese food." It is becoming a global pairing language. Alongside this trend, demand for professionals who understand and can work with sake is growing rapidly within the F&B industry.
